As I was prepping tomorrow’s photos for Friday Finds, I was reflecting on why I do it. Looking through and editing pics of myself literally makes me cringe almost as much as taking the pics in the first place. So it got me thinking, why do I put myself through this every week? I could just do flat lays every week or show the clothes on the models instead of on me.

First, let me tell you that I gain nothing by linking any of the outfits or items on Fridays. Maybe someday I will get there but for now, I just love sharing new fashion finds with all of you. I have found some of my favorite staple pieces by following other bloggers and it is one of the things I really wanted to do when I started this blog and IG account. Do I expect all of you to have the same taste or go out and buy everything I share? Heck no! But I love sharing some of my favorite finds in hopes that maybe someone else will love them too.

The other reason I continue to do it is because part of this blog is rediscovering the creative sides of myself, through writing and all forms of expression through everyday life. I have never liked pics of myself or felt comfortable in front of the camera but I am a firm believer that if you live your life status quo and never step out of your comfort zone, you become stagnant and you stop growing as a person.

Starting this blog and expanding my social media community of friends has brought me so much joy. I love getting different women’s perspectives on all aspects of life, including the fun stuff like fashion, recipes, home decor, books and everything in between to the more serious content like bible verses, quotes and just real, raw stories. More so than the pretty pics though, I love reading all of the captions. It’s so inspiring and enlightening to see how other women navigate through the phase of life they are in and how, in the end, everyone is so supportive.

So while I have my inspirational quotes and other features that hold a dear place in my heart, I try to stay committed to just having fun fashion content on Fridays. It’s always a lighthearted way to kick off the weekend and just share some of the things I am currently loving. I hope all of you enjoy it and know that while I will never be comfortable doing it, sharing fun pieces with friends will always be something I enjoy.
