Finding Inspiration for Fall

Okay, I know this may be an unpopular opinion but Fall is usually one of my least favorite seasons, although I live in Southern California, so do we really have seasons here? I think it’s because Summer is my favorite so when it comes to an end, I am always nostalgic and wanting more of it.

As we look ahead at the upcoming transition to Fall, I wanted to get some inspiration to really embrace it this year and find ways to make it a time of year I can look forward to. Here are some ideas if you are like me. And, if not, I envy you and hope you enjoy all the pumpkin spice.

Return to Routine

I must admit. I am a routine girl. I thrive on it and while I love throwing it out the window in Summer, the back to school time always allows a reset into Fall. From maintaining a consistent exercise schedule to regular meal planning, it’s the perfect chance to get back on track with those goals you wanted to accomplish this year. It’s also the perfect time to find and test new recipes and just get back out for a long walk with a friend.

Fashion

If course I can find something good in fashion in any season and while Fall colors don’t always inspire me, the return of Fall boots is always something to cheer for. Plus, pulling back out all of my favorite jeans and trying out a few new styles is always good inspo for a new season.

Home Refresh

While Spring is usually a time for cleaning, I find myself wanting to do some of that in Fall too but what I really enjoy is making small home decor updates throughout the house that just freshen the space up and give it a new feel. Sometimes this can be as simple as moving things around or maybe buying a few new items to focus on one specific area. I plan to tackle my home office.

Family Time

This comes in every season but Fall has some milestones that definitely get me excited. My dad usually comes for his annual visit in the Fall plus our anniversary falls at the end of September so I would never complain about that. My son’s birthday along with several other important family members all fall in this time too. It culminates with the best family day, Thanksgiving. With the older kids off to college, this day has become even more special.

Football

Did I shock you with that one? While I’m not one to sit on the couch all day on a Sunday, I do enjoy watching a good game. Plus, who can complain about an excuse to eat all of the snacks?

Sometimes it just takes sitting down and making a list of the things you do enjoy to remind you that change can be good. While I will be sad to see Summer go in a few weeks, we will have warm weather here for months which also helps. I just wish I loved all things pumpkin but hey, that’s what makes all of us different and I can always appreciate that. Have a great day friends!
